MC Law and Wickard have renewed their partnership for a required Introduction to AI and the Law course for all first-year students in January 2027.
The renewal follows the inaugural course in spring 2026. Developed and taught with Wickard, the program combines foundational AI instruction with practical experience and consideration of the ethical, regulatory, and policy issues affecting legal practice.
The first cohort also used AI-assisted development methods to prototype legal applications. Those projects gave students an opportunity to connect classroom instruction with a specific legal workflow and consider the limitations of the tools they were using.
Continuing the program makes AI education a recurring part of the student experience. Wickard thanks Dean John P. Anderson and the MC Law team for their continued partnership and commitment to practical, responsible technology education.
