Wickard CEO Oliver Roberts visited Cairo in September 2026 at the invitation of the U.S. Department of State, participating in discussions on AI regulation and adoption.
Roberts attended a gathering at the residence of the U.S. Embassy’s Deputy Chief of Mission with leaders from Egypt’s Parliament and Senate. The conversation examined the relationship between innovation and emerging AI risks.
Roberts also presented at Techne Summit Cairo during Middle East Innovation Week. His contributions included discussions of who should regulate AI and how institutions should approach data sovereignty, as well as a workshop on inaccurate outputs, confidentiality, and responsible use in consequential professional work.
